Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ)

The mission of the ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation is to promote the development of the Québec bio-food sector by supporting a quality food supply, from a sustainable development perspective.

To that end, the Ministère is implementing the Stratégie de positionnement des aliments du Québec sur le marché institutionnel (strategy for the positioning of Québec foods on the institutional market), which includes concrete actions aimed at making Québec foods play a greater role in supplying the public bodies and private organizations funded by the Québec government.

Egg Farmer of Canada

Egg Farmers of Canada manages the supply of eggs by determining the requirements of both the consumer and farmer. All regulated egg farmers operate under the system of supply management. This system ensures that consumers receive fresh, local, high-quality eggs and that farmers get fair returns based on the cost to produce a dozen eggs in Canada.

Québec en forme

Québec en Forme aims to promote healthy eating and physical activity among Quebec youth aged 0 to 17 years. Healthy lifestyle habits are key to the development and academic success of young people. To achieve its goal, Québec en Forme supports communities and organizations throughout Quebec that encourage young people, particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds, to become more active and make healthier food choices on a daily basis.

SAM - Système alimentaire montréalais

The Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) of Montreal and its partners developed in 2014, the first-ever Equitable and Sustainable Food System Development Plan for Montreal (SAM). The goal was to mobilize regional and local partners working at different scales and spheres of action (environmental, economic, social) surrounding food. To do this, the project relied on the expertise of actors from industry, busines, institutions, municipalities and community groups in a spirit of collaboration and co-construction.
